Royal Mail & DHL Suspend US Deliveries – What This Means for You
Updated: 26 August 2025
Royal Mail has temporarily suspended all parcel deliveries to the United States following changes to US customs rules announced by President Donald Trump. DHL has followed suit.
What has changed?
The US has ended the “de minimis” exemption, which previously allowed low-value packages (under $800 / £600) to enter the country duty-free.
- UK-origin goods will face a 10% tariff
- EU-origin goods will face a 15% tariff
- Only gifts under $100 - £75, cards, and letters without a customs declaration remain exempt.
Why has Royal Mail paused shipments?
Royal Mail, along with other European postal services, has stopped accepting parcels to the US to allow time for a new system to be put in place. They will launch a new service called “US Postal Delivered Duties Paid”, expected to go live within two weeks.
This service will allow duties to be handled at the point of sending, avoiding unexpected fees for recipients. Postage prices will remain the same, but Royal Mail will add a 50p handling fee per parcel to cover customs clearance costs.
What does this mean for UK Peptides customers?
- Orders to the USA are temporarily on hold until Royal Mail and DHL resume services.
- We will keep customers updated and resume US shipping as soon as the carriers confirm their new systems are live.
- All other international and UK orders remain unaffected
Next steps
Royal Mail has stated it expects to have a solution in place within the next two weeks. Once confirmed, we will update this page and reinstate US shipping.
